2010 QB Jonathan Watters Gets First Offer

2010 Quarterback discusses a school visit that he left with offer.

There is always those kids that kind of fly under the radar in every class. It is hard to do that when you are a 6'4" Quarterback on a team that has gotten to the elite 8 two years in a row.

Jonathan Watters is one of those kids. He played basketball and his team made the state playoffs which put him a little behind in throwing and lifting. He weight dipped all the way down to 180lbs.

Today he told me he is back to 195 lbs. He is also not playing baseball to concentrate on weight training and film work this spring.

How was your trip to Georgia Southern this weekend?

Jonathan Watters-" It was awesome place. I really loved the area and school. They have a brand new weight room and just built a new sports complex for the students. They are also building new dorms where all the freshman will have apartment type dorms next year."

Did you meet with Coach Hatcher?

Watters- " Yes I met with Coach Hatcher and he let me know they are putting a offer on the table. I was really excited to hear that.

I really like the offense they run there with throwing the ball a lot. I am coming back down here in summer to attend their camp.

Are starting to take visits to schools?

Watters-" I am and I will be at the Scout combine next Friday and going to UGA next Saturday for their spring game."

Rusty's Final Word- The young man has all the potential in the world, he just needs to make sure he works hard this offseason. A good showing next Friday in Atlanta could allow more offers to come his way. I have spoken with two different SEC schools that will be keeping a eye on him this spring and camp season.
