Lee County's Posey Selected 5th Overall

Former Lee County star, FSU's Buster Posey becomes fifth overall selection by San Francisco.

Four picks after Griffin High's Tim Beckham was selected first overall in the Major League Baseball First-Year Draft, former Lee County star Buster Posey was pegged fifth overall by the San Francisco Giants.

The junior catcher at Florida State was recently named Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year.

"I am extremely excited. It's one of the greatest days of my life," Posey said. "I am excited about getting started."
