Former Stone Mountain High linebacker Marcus Ball has left the Florida State football program. "Florida State announced on Monday that linebacker Marcus Ball has asked for a release from his football scholarship and that request has been granted," the school said in a statement. Ball made an immediate impact for the Seminoles on special teams as a true freshman in 2006. Last season he became a starter and posted 24 total tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. Ball starred at Stone Mountain and became one of the most sought-after recruits in the state of Georgia. The speedy defender was rated by Scout.com as a four-star prospect and the 10th-ranked linebacker in the country in 2005. He posted 126 tackles as a senior in leading Stone Mountain to the state semifinals. |
