Mike Gilliard's top two schools still haven't changed. But that doesn't mean his recruitment is over. In a way, it is just beginning. "I still have two favorites of Georgia and Georgia Tech," the talented Valdosta High linebacker told GAVSV.com. "But there are some other schools that I am looking at too." The Yellow Jackets were supposed to get a visit from Gilliard this past weekend for the program's annual T-Day game. Gilliard had to work and isn't sure when he will get a chance to make the trek to Atlanta next. What he does know is his schedule next week. "Coaches from Notre Dame are coming down to see me on April 29," Gilliard said. "I think they are about to offer me." Speaking of offers, the 6-foot-3 and 205-pound defender recently picked up two more when Tennessee and Michigan extended one. Gilliard already has plans to check out the Volunteers sometime in the future. "I definitely want to see Tennessee," he said. "I don't know much about them but my defensive coordinator is a big fan so he tells me about them. I have talked to Coach (Phil) Fulmer before and I liked talking to him. I like their stadium." As a junior last year, Gilliard posted 112 tackles, eight sacks and two interceptions in 12 games. |
