Norcross High boy's basketball squad captures 5A Championship for the third time in as many years. | |||
|
The state of Georgia has not seen this type of basketball dominance in quite some time. Norcross High capped off an incredible season Saturday night with a thrilling 57-54 victory over Wheeler High in the boy's 5A State Championship game. With the win, Blue Devils have now a title in three straight seasons. Norcross was able to hold Wheeler to its lowest point-total in this year's playoffs. And for the most part, Wheeler's defense was stout as well as they held Blue Devils star Al-Farouq Aminu to just 17 points. In 4A action, Glenn Hills captured its first ever state crown with a 64-57 win over Carver-Columbus. Reggie Middleton and Shawn Allen scored 18 points apiece for the Tigers in the historic win. |
