It seems like everyday, we here at GAVSV.com run a story about Henry County wide receiver Jamal Patterson and his growing list of college scholarship offers. Well we certainly aren't tired of sharing the news and college coaches sure aren't tired of offering the talented 6-foot-2 playmaker. Just ask coaches at the University of Tennessee. "I just left Tennessee's Junior Day and the coaches offered me," Patterson notified GAVSV.com during his return trip to the Peach State. "They didn't expect me to be there (for the Junior Day)," Patterson added. "Wide Receivers Coach (Latrell) Scott and Coach (Dave) Clawson, the offensive coordinator, verbally offered me. They said they will mail (the written offer) on Monday." The offer from the Volunteers is just the latest in the long line of schools to express their interest in the speedy wide receiver. And while Patterson has said it's too soon to name a leader, Tennessee is definitely under strong consideration. "It's amazing. It's a beautiful place," Patterson said. "I am not sure yet if I could see myself playing there but it would be nice to compete in the SEC - especially at a great school like the University of Tennessee." |
