Comfort Key for Carver-Columbus' Fortson
To explain, Fortson's commitment was considered strong up until the last few weeks leading up to Feb. 6 until coaches from Florida State steadily increased their recruitment of the four-star prospect.
The growing interest was mutual and after taking a few unofficial and one official visit to see the Seminoles, it was widely felt that Fortson would wind up signing with FSU come National Signing Day.
And in the end that is indeed what he did.
"It was a tough decision," Fortson told GAVSV.com. "But in the end I just went with the school that I was most comfortable at."
Fortson points to his relationship with the Seminole coaches when asked what he likes most about Tallahassee.
"(The coaches) just made me feel very comfortable down there," Fortson said. "They made me feel like I was already a part of the family."
It is likely that Fortson, who could play a number of positions in college because of his size, speed and versatility, will line up at wide receiver for the 'Noles.
If he keeps growing, he could be used as a pass-catching tight end or h-back as well.
"I am very excited," Fortson said.
