Mays High defensive back A.J. Portee talked to us about his early list of
favorite colleges.
"Auburn, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, and North Carolina are
my top five right now," said A.J. Portee. "I'm real interested in Auburn. I've
already got an offer on the table from them, so I'm just waiting to take my
official visit. I want to see how it compares to the other schools."
What other schools have offered the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder?
"I have verbal offers from Mississippi State, Central Florida and Georgia Tech. Vanderbilt and Auburn have officially offered me.
Portee camped at Auburn a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed his trip to the Plains.
"It went pretty good," said Portee. "Coach Terry Price said he liked me a
lot. I met the head coach, Tommy Tuberville. I felt a lot of love there. I
really liked it a lot. They have a really nice campus."
