Habersham Central DB Visits Southern Miss

Habersham Central cornerback Josh Anderson and his Dad traveled to Hattiesburg, Miss. on Saturday to visit Southern Miss. Unfortunately, bad weather forced the cancellation of the Eagles' spring game, but Anderson had a good time anyway.

Heavy rains and high winds through the Hattiesburg area Saturday morning forced Southern Miss to cancel their Spring Game.

Josh Anderson, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound corner from Habersham Central, says that his trip to Southern Miss went well. However, he was disappointed about not getting to see the spring game.

"It went really good," said Anderson. "I got to see all of the campus and everything. I got to see the athletic facility, locker room and the football field. It was real nice. I got to meet all of their coaches."

"We were gonna watch the spring game, but the weather wouldn't allow it today. It's pouring rain, thunder-storming and everything out here. I'm kinda unhappy about that, but I still enjoyed the trip."

Anderson was very pleased with the Southern Miss coaching staff.

"I really liked all of them," Anderson Said. "They were really good guys. I talked to Head Coach Jeff Bower for a few minutes. He was really nice. He's been there for a long time."

The design of the Southern Miss campus really stood out.

"We got to see the whole campus and I really liked it," said Anderson. "It's really compact. You don't have to go twenty blocks down to get to class. It's not confusing at all. You can find things easy. I liked it. It was great."

Anderson is still waiting for his first offer. He ran 4.56 forty and 4.28 shuttle time at the Kennedy/CES combine in Duluth, Ga. on February 18th.

Southern Miss, Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Harvard are currently showing the most interest in Anderson.

He also has a 4.0 GPA.
