2005 Football Preview
Class AAA - Region 5
M.L. King showed last season that good football is played in this region, making it to state semifinals before falling to eventual state champion LaGrange. Westminster also made a strong postseason run before narrowly falling to Cartersville in the second round. In subregion A, Westminster and M.L. Westlake always has talented players and this season is no different. The Lions have a duo of defensive stalwarts in seniors Morrice Richardson (6-2, 215) and safety Mario Edwards (6-1, 200) at linebacker and safety respectively. Offensively, junior quarterback Cameron Newton (6-4, 200) has the tools to be a force.
