Speedy Receiver Now Interested In Auburn

Kyrin Priester

Speedy receiver Kyrin Priester talks about his interest in Auburn and his top three at the moment.

Snellville, Ga.--A commitment to North Carolina State at the moment and previoulsy a very early commitment to Georgia, speedy wide receiver Kyrin Priester has seen his recruiting take off in the last few weeks. One of the schools that has taken an interest recently is Auburn.

Going back to the hurry-up/no-huddle offense under the direction of Coach Gus Malzahn and offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee, the Tigers are looking for speed on the outside and Priester has plenty of that to burn. At 6-1, 185 pounds Priester is a talented player and wants to see more from Auburn between now and signing day.

"I talked to Coach Lashlee and he just told me he had watched my film and liked what he saw," Priester tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "They want me to take a visit in January. I think it will be early in January. I'm not sure when exactly."

Admitting that he doesn't know a whole lot about the Auburn program, Priester said that he remembers 2010 and watching Cam Newton play for the Tigers. Knowing that Malzahn was the architect of that offense is something he said is exciting to think about.

"I just know they were good when Cam was there," Priester said. "I know they've got new coaches. We talked about the offense a lot and how they throw the ball around. That's really exciting to hear."

With Tom O'Brien gone from North Carolina State and Dave Doeren taking over from Northern Illinois, Priester said he has decided to take a step back in his recruiting and look at several other schools.

"I'm just waiting to meet the new coaches and when I do I'll weigh my decision then," Priester said. "I'm looking at everyone that is looking at me pretty much, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Wake Forest and Maryland."

With several colleges on his list heading into the Christmas break, Priester said at the moment he's really focusing on three schools.

"I like Auburn, Mississippi State and North Carolina State," Priester said. "Those are the three I'm basically looking at right now. Ole Miss has offered me as a cornerback, but I really don't want to play cornerback."

As a senior Priester had over 1,000 yards receiving with 12 touchdowns. He also added three touchdowns on kick returns.
