Bellamy Recruiting for the 'Noles
Four-star standout Davin Bellamy is "at home" at Florida State University. On Saturday, Bellamy took a trip to his future home in Tallahassee. Despite a 37-26 loss to the fourth-ranked University of Florida, Bellamy says it was "by far the best game that I've been to all year." A senior at Chamblee High School (GA), the defensive end confirms that his commitment is solid. "I love it," Bellamy said of his visit to FSU. "I felt at home." Now, Bellamy is focused on recruiting other top prospects to play for the Garnet and Gold. On Saturday, his efforts focused on A.J. Jackson, a three-star tight end currently committed to Auburn University. Jackson told FOX Sports NEXT just one week ago that his commitment to the Tigers would last as long as the coaching staff did. Head Coach Gene Chizik was fired early on Sunday. "I can talk people into things," Bellamy admitted. "But I think after seeing that environment and the atmosphere of the game...I think that won [Jackson] over; especially when the horse ran out!" Bellamy also admits that Chief Osceola's horse, a decades-old tradition at FSU, is one of his favorite rituals on game day. "The fans also showed me a lot of love," he said of Doak Campbell Stadium. Alongside Jackson, Bellamy plans to take his official visit to Florida State in December. A date has not yet been set.
