No Change for Cheek

No Change for Cheek

Despite Jeff Tedford no longer being the head coach for Cal's football team, Trevellous Cheek is sticking with them.

"The news about Coach [Jeff] Tedford being fired does not affect my commitment to California at all. I am still committed to them," Trevellous Cheek told Scout on Tuesday.

Cheeks committed to Cal back in April and he is solid now as he was then despite the changes.

"Cal is a great school and there is not one thing that I dislike about them. I just have a good feeling about my commitment and I really can't explain it."

The 5-foot-10, 170 pound cornerback out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer will now wait and see who the new head coach is.

He was not shocked by the news about Tedford being let go, but he was still a little surprised.

"In a way I was caught off guard when I heard about the news because he has had a lot of success at Cal in the past. I kind of figured it was coming though the way people were upset about this season. I feel like it could have been handled better."
