VU WBB: Summer League Continues

After a week off for the 4th of July holiday, games in the Island Sports Summer College Basketball League at Cane Ridge High School resumed on Monday. Whitney D. shares some photos of the Vanderbilt players in action.

The second semester of summer school at Vanderbilt begins today following a short break between semesters. Students return to the classroom today, and the women's basketball players returned to the courts at Cane Ridge High School Monday afternoon for games in the Island Sports Summer Basketball League.

Maggie Morrison and Kristen Gaffney were on the sidelines as they continue their rehabilitation following ACL tears and reconstructive surgery. Stephanie Holzer and Tiffany Clarke usually can't make the games because their internships are full-time jobs, but the rest of the players are regular participants in the summer league games.

League games take place at Cane Ridge High School at 12848 Old Hickory Boulevard in Antioch on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first game tips off around 4 p.m, and the last game begins around 7 p.m. Games are open to the public with no admission charge.
